Please see below the letter received today from Balfour Beatty regarding the change to the A3 layout for the 9th of Feburary for the following six month period. Any concerns or issues you may have regarding this change should be addressed to Balfour Beatty using the contact details below.

ADVANCE WARNING OF A3 ROAD LAYOUT CHANGE

This letter is to inform you that from 9th February 2010, all A3 northbound traffic will move via a contra flow system (south of The Spaniard) onto the new A3 road.  The existing A3 north will be blocked off with a barrier.  There will be no access to Hammer Lane except via Hazel Grove intersection.  The closure is for six months.

The closure is necessary in order to construct the new northbound dual carriageway and tie in the current Hammer Lane and Bramshott Chase access with the existing A3.  As the existing slip-road passes through our 'works area' and to ensure the safety of the travelling public as well as our workforce we have to close it.

During this phase of works access to Hammer Lane and Bramshott Chase from the south will be via Hazel Grove and along the current road (which will then be the old A3).  Please see attached plan.
