Amesbury girls under-eight netball team take honours
TAKING the honours in a local netball tournament this month are the under-eight girls team from Amesbury School.
The team came out tops at the Cranleigh under-eight Netball Tournament, winning all six matches in the round robin, competing against six other teams.
Scores varied from 3-0 in the first match to a confident 7-0 in the final match, with the team conceding just one goal in all six matches.
Kate Hewlett, head of girls' games at Amesbury said: "This was a truly outstanding performance. It reflected the girls' determination to succeed, and the good team spirit that has developed since they started to play netball last September.
"All players should feel extremely proud of their success," said Mrs Hewlett.
