Amesbury pupils step back in time
Pupils took a step back in time on a special activity day at Amesbury School.
The Victorian day was organised to help the children learn what life was like more than one hundred years ago.
In costumes that had been provided by parents, the year two children enjoyed a full day of activities, including writing on slates and playing Victorian playground games.
And even the teachers entered into the spirit of the day. Diane Anscombe and Fiona Cauley looked every bit the traditional school ma'ams.
After their morning lessons, the children were taken to Farnham Museum where they were shown vintage toys and household utensils.
Head of the pre-prep department Lesley Bell said: "The children really enjoyed the day and especially liked dressing up. I think they learnt a lot about how different life used to be, but they all agreed they would miss their trainers and computer games!"
She added that another Victorian day would be held next year.
