Amesbury U11 and U10 Netball Tournament at King Edward's School, Witley

On Saturday 10th October thirty schools participated in the annual King Edward's School Netball Tournament.  The competition was fierce with many large, single-sex schools from London travelling down to gain strong opposition from the well-renowned tough Surrey-area schools.

In the U10 competition 14 schools were divided into two groups.

Amesbury played some great netball against some very strong teams and finished in 4th place within their group.

The sun was shining and the girls had a great morning both playing and watching some fantastic netball.

The Amesbury Under 11 team did not concede a single goal in their first two matches against St. Andrew's School in Woking with a score of 13-0, and Rydes Hill with a comfortable 12 -0 victory for Amesbury.  St Thomas', Battersea was the last team played in this round and resulted in an 11-1 win to Amesbury leaving them the winners of their pool and a place in the Quarter Finals.

In the Quarter Final Amesbury played Downsend School and, after a close battle, Amesbury were the eventual winners with a 7-6 win.

In the Semi-Finals, Amesbury came up against Edgeborough.  The girls fought a hard match but when the final whistle blew a 7-3 win placed them in the final.  The girls were absolutely delighted!

The final was played against Bishopsgate School.  Even though Amesbury played incredibly well, scoring goals from the edge of the circle, the Bisphopsgate team were too strong an opposition and in the end the best team won, with Bishopsgate leading 8 - 5.  The Amesbury team should feel extremely proud of their performance on the day, they gave every match their all and left the tournament with heads held high.
