Presentation of cheques

Every Monday all the Amesbury pupils gather in the PAC for an assembly.  Today's assembly was special in that some of the pupils were given the task of handing over two large cheques to our special charities; The Kings World Trust for Children and CHASE.  Both charities were given £4270.84 making a grand total of £8541.66 that Amesbury raised last year.  This was done through the efforts of the children by a variety of activities:a sponsored run, Charity Day, with stalls and games, and the help of parents who ran and supported the Christmas Fair and Summer Ball.

With this money The Kings World Trust for Children is going to buy 10 computers for their school and boarding houses in India as most homes do not have electricity, let alone computers.

CHASE will be able to support 4 families for one month giving them nurses, medicine and therapies at home and at Christopher's hospice as well as time off for the parents.

Amesbury will continue their sterling work this year  raising money with projects such as paintings by the children to sell to their parents for Christmas presents, Years 1 & 2 will do a Bob a Job week, the whole school will participate in buying Christmas stars  for 20p with each year group seeing how many stars they can put on their tree and, of course, the ever-popular Heads and Tails game.  That takes us up to Christmas!
