On Friday 12^th February Amesbury was invited to compete in the U9-U13 Cross Country event at Highfield along with 20 other local prep schools, including Cranleigh, Danes Hill and Guildford High to name a few.

Altogether over a thousand runners took part, the course distances being from 0.7miles for the U9s and U10s to 1.8miles for the U13s.  The terrain was rough and muddy, taking the competitors over hill and through streams which, along with the inclement weather of sleet, snow and rain, made the going very tough.

However, Amesbury runners were not to be daunted and the day saw many successes, namely:

                      Piers Fairston           4^th

U10 Girls       Jess Crossman        2^nd

U12 Boys       Ollie Duckworth       3^rd
