Languages Day
Languages Day is a yearly event at Amesbury and all pupils in the prep school are encouraged to take part. This year, the languages looked at were Italian, French, German and Japanese. Events occurred throughout the day such as fun sentence building activities outside, quizzes about the respective countries and an Italian football powerpoint presentation was especially popular with the boys! Pupils learned basic phrases in Japanese and were able to take part in the chopstick challenge! Many of them also enjoyed dressing up in traditional Japanese costume and trying their hand at Japanese instruments. Lunch that day had a Spanish flavour to it and for morning break the children were offered a croissant and pain au chocolat each. A selection of French and German cheeses was a hit with both pupils and staff alike!
