World of Maths Day
World of Maths Day
World of Maths was a presentation of fun and educational hands-on, problem-solving activities that took place at the school on Friday 14th May for years 1 to 4 and on Wednesday 19th May for years 5 to 7.
It gave the children an excellent opportunity to participate in small groups solving a variety of problems from large, hands-on displays and puzzles.
Problem-solving is an important element of all topics that run throughout the Maths curriculum and the children seemed to benefit greatly from this experience.
The children were set a variety of problems to solve, had to discover number patterns, identify geometric properties, think logically and apply mathematics to the physical world.
