Performing Arts
Are the Performing Arts valued at Amesbury?
Absolutely. From nursery onwards Music and Drama are part of everyday school life - this is how Amesbury continues to produce good team players who are also confident, articulate individuals.
Does everyone have a chance to perform?
Yes, in fact we expect every child to play a full part in the school's cultural calendar, helping them to find, explore and develop their natural abilities. Small scale events in school help to motivate and inspire the reticent child, whilst those who are already confident will find plenty of opportunities to demonstrate their skills.
Does the school offer scholarships for Music and Drama?
Yes. However in order to win an award a boy or girl must be 'head and shoulders above other very talented pupils within their year group'. In the last five years our Performing Arts scholars have won Music and Drama scholarships to senior schools with excellent arts reputations such as Frensham Heights, Bradfield and Lord Wandsworth College and Bryanston.
