Tennis
Are tennis lessons available for all the years?
Yes. Tennis lessons are available from Nursery through to Year 8. Children learn to play tennis at an early age and this not only builds self-confidence, but it provides a large playing base, and enable us to identify the naturally talented player at a very early age.
Does the program cater for all standards?
Yes. Groups are split depending on a player's standard. For performance players i.e. high club players through to national standard, there is a performance programme designed to help each player reach his/her full potential.
Do you encourage tournament and match play?
Yes. All children take part in the "Amesbury Singles and Doubles Championships" and the finals are held at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton.
In the Trinity term teams are entered in to the LTA's Surrey Schools League and other LTA tennis festivals.
Players are also given advice and encouraged to play LTA Rating tournaments.
What type of tennis lessons do you offer and when do these take place?
Group, individual and shared lessons are available throughout the year. Group lessons run in school time, after school and at the weekends. Individual and shared lessons are scheduled around each pupil's timetable to fit in with their school day.
Holiday courses, group lessons for parents, family tournaments and supervised free play practice sessions are available.
Pro-Line Tennis has been based at Amesbury for over 10 years, and is responsible for leading the programme. Full time Head Pro Graham Holmes leads the programme supported by a team of five coaches based at Amesbury. All coaches are CRB checked and have LTA/PTR/RPT qualifications.
