Hugh's Bio
A qualified chartered accountant, I have spent the majority of my career in financial or general management of companies in the wines and spirits sector, from Bacardi to Berry Bros. & Rudd. Although now semi-retired I continue to hold a directorship in the London based retail and wholesale wine merchant group Jeroboams Limited. Looking to the future I also act as consultant to an English Wine Business in Hampshire. Alongside these activities and my governorship at Amesbury (which I have held since ?) I am a Governor at Pond Meadow, a SEN Academy in Guildford, I chair a medium sized firm of accountants and I am a fully engaged sailing buddy for Sailability at Frensham Pond.
My three children, now aged between 24 and 30 all spent many fabulous years at the school.
Unsurprisingly my skills and experience lie in finance, business and people management and to that end I act as Finance Governor at Amesbury and chair the Finance and Facilities Committee.
When not preparing for or attending meetings relating to my various roles, I enjoy the outdoors, most days you will find me walking my dog on Hankley Common, spending time with my wife Sue, wider family and friends and always planning our next trip to somewhere.
