About Amesbury
Amesbury joined the Charterhouse Family of Schools (Registered Charity 312054) on 1st August 2026. The Governing Body of Charterhouse School has responsibility for Amesbury, but the School is run independently, retaining its own identity and ethos, as well as its day-to-day operational autonomy.

The Amesbury School Sub-Committee oversees the day-to-day running of the School and is chaired by Craig Decker. The members are detailed below.
* A co-opted member of the Sub-Committee is not a full Governor of Charterhouse but is elected to bring to the Sub-Committee knowledge and expertise specifically relevant to Amesbury.
Craig Decker, BSc

Craig's Bio
Craig moved from Australia to the United Kingdom in 1996 to pursue his career in technology. He is currently consulting to many technology start-up companies in the areas of AI, Human Talent Management, Data Quality, Cyber Security and Unified Communications. Craig previously worked for many years in the Internet technology sector, holding senior roles in Cisco, BroadSoft, Cosine and Ascend.
Craig’s son and daughter were both educated at Amesbury. Craig joined the Amesbury Governing Body in 2023 and was Chair at the time of the merger with Charterhouse.

Sarah Hartnell, BA

Sarah's Bio
Sarah is a qualified solicitor with a Jurisprudence degree from Oxford and a Post Graduate Diploma in Competition Law from Kings College, London. After training in the City of London, she spent the majority of her career working in house leading consumer, regulatory and competition legal teams at Centrica plc. In those roles she managed multi-disciplinary teams of lawyers and non-lawyers, was responsible for key strategic business and M&A projects and regulatory investigations collaborating with the executive team throughout.
Pam Mundy, B.Ed, M.A., FRSA

Pam's Bio
Pam is a highly experienced EYFS to Secondary education professional, internationally renowned author and keynote speaker with global recognition for her specialism in the development of Early Childhood Education and Care, international education, school review and accreditation, inspection, analytical due diligence and school start up projects in a variety of diverse locations including; Africa, SE Asia, USA, and the Gulf region.
Pam was honoured to be short-listed by the Lead 50/50 organisation as ‘Inspirational Woman of the Year, 2022’, was named as one of the Think Global People 40 Outstanding Global Women 2023 and has recently invited to become a Global Ambassador for the Savvitas Network, based in the House of Lords.
Hugh Sturges, BA, ACA

Hugh's Bio
Hugh graduated from Exeter University with a degree in Economics, qualified as a Chartered Accountant and then worked in audit in the UK and Bermuda until entering the world of business. Spending much of his career in the drinks industry in finance and general management roles, his last fifteen years of full time employment were as Chief Executive in high end consumer facing businesses where service standards, culture and values were of the utmost priority. Now semi-retired, Hugh retains an interest in the consumer sector with one or two directorships and also devotes time to working in the SEND/disabled sector.
Jill Tait-Harris

Jill's Bio
Jill has served at The Royal Ballet School since 2013, joining as Assistant Principal and Safeguarding Lead. She currently leads boarding and oversees pastoral care and welfare, safeguarding student well-being in a demanding, high-performance environment. A former Designated Safeguarding Lead for five years, she brings extensive experience in managing complex welfare needs in elite training settings. Jill has worked across state and independent sectors in the UK and internationally, including roles as Head of Department, Head of Technology Faculty, and Housemistress in a leading independent school.
Michael Walton, MA, MBA, FRICS

Michael's Bio
Michael was educated at Malvern College and is a graduate of Cambridge University and a postgraduate of City St George’s University. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. Michael has spent his career in real estate investment management and has for the last 20 years been Chief Executive of his own business that advises Governments and Institutions on real estate investment throughout Western Europe.
