Amesbury’s Head Tennis Coach Andy Warry hosted his first ATA Family Tennis Tournament on Saturday 21 April at 4.30pm. 15 pairs of players took part ranging from Year 1s to Year 5s. All first round matches were round robins. The results were then collated and the top 2 from each box and 2 highest scorers’ went through.
In the Quater-Finals Casper beat Arthur, Ollie beat Chloe, Alfie beat Yssy and Tom beat Henry. In the Semi-Final Ollie beat Casper and Alfie beat Tom. The Final was a very close match but Ollie beat Alfie.
All winners received a gold medal, tickets to go to a major tournament, prizes and are eligible to go through to the next round. All other players received a prize for taking part.
We hope to host another ATA Family Tournament in the future as this one was very well received. ATA is also looking to host a tournament for the older age groups so please watch this space…
