Amesbury School Announces Gavin Franklin to become Head from September 2023
Amesbury School, Hindhead, Surrey, announces the appointment of Gavin Franklin as Head
from September 2023. He succeeds Jon Whybrow who is retiring at the end of the current
academic year after three incredible years.
Gavin joins Amesbury from Wellesley House in Broadstairs, Kent, where he has been Head
since 2017. Prior to Wellesley House, Gavin worked at Wellington College as a Housemaster
and English teacher as well as being heavily involved in the co-curricular life of the school.
Gavin will be joined at Amesbury by his wife, Claire and family.
