U8A Cricket vs Highfield

Score: Lost

Rain threatened to stop play before it had even begun however, thankfully the clouds parted and the game was able to commence.

Highfield put Amesbury into bat and after a reasonably solid start, things began to unravel with a few players running themselves out. Despite this wobble in the middle order, Amesbury were able to score a few boundaries to boost the score. They finished their innings on 199 for 7.

Highfield went into bat and began scoring freely. They built up quite a total until Amesbury remembered their skills from training and showed some flashes of brilliance in the field. A few run outs brought the Highfield score down and with one more wicket, victory was in sight. Unfortunately Highfield managed to hit a boundary to end the game with their score being 203 for 4.

In the end, a close game of cricket played in great spirit.
