U9A Netball v Highfield
Score 9-8
Players Player: Ysabel G
Lady of the Match: Milly S

What a nail-biting game! The girls had a tentative start to the match, allowing Highfield to gain possession of the ball for the majority of the first quarter. This resulted in Highfield entering the second quarter with a 4-2 lead. However as the game progressed the U9A’s showed a real fighting spirit. They demonstrated more confident, definite drives into space, allowing the ball to be moved fluently down the court to the two shooters. Both shooters were able to cope with the ever increasing pressure, and were able to consistently capitalise on the opportunities to score throughout the match. Some well timed interceptions both the defence and mid court players helped Amesbury to obtain the majority of possession in the second half of the match, however Highfield did not give up, causing a very exciting end to the game, as Highfield went into the last quarter leading by one goal. Amesbury put in one last push in the last 8 minutes managing to win by just one goal. This was helped by the very enthusiastic support on the sideline. The girls should be very proud of not only they performance today, but also their positive attitude throughout the match. Well done girls a great result against a very strong Highfield team!
