Amesbury U11A 6 v 1 Edgeborough U11A
Why oh why did it take until the final match of the season to put in a performance like they did v Edgeborough?
From the first whistle to the last Amesbury played with the discipline, accuracy and passion that the whole sporting year has been lacking! A team performance without individuals trying to out skill the whole of the other team, resulted in a delightful display of very good hockey. Teaching sport can be very frustrating and at other times very rewarding, both these feelings have been felt with this team. Both Mr Rouse and I have seen what they can do in lesson time and moments within matches, but today for the whole match it all came together. The ‘W’ press was in place early, sticks down to intercept Edgeborough’s passes. Passing wide to wingers holding their positions and strong crosses coming in for a striker who just had to tap them in because he was in the right place.
FRUSTRATING to REWARDING in 5 weeks of hockey!
