U11A Cricket v Hoe Bridge: 3 May

Hoe Bridge won the toss and put us into bat. Our innings began brightly. Jamie and  Lucas batted sensibly, defending the good balls and punishing the loose deliveries. At 45 for 1 we were in good shape. Lucas started to dominate the bowling and impressed with both his power and array of shots. He raced to 37. After he was dismissed the run rate dropped. Zac(15) and Toby(17) batted sensibly and we reached a respectable total of 110 for 8 off 20 overs.

Unfortunately our bowling was inconsistent and against very good batting we were unable to defend our total. Pick of the bowlers was once again Charlie who took two good wickets.

Final result: Win to Hoe Bridge by 6 wickets

Peter Donaldson, Deputy Headmaster
