U11A Netball IAPS Tournament
Venue: Hurstpier point

Due to the snow on Thursday IAPS tournament was moved to Monday. Although there was no snow the girls wrapped up with lots of layers ready to be in the cold for the day. The team arrived promptly, the mini bus journey to Hurst was full of excitement and giggles. It was an easy journey there and when we arrived the girls organised themselves to do a thorough warm up and were really keen to get going.

Kent college: lost 5-0
Their first match of the day was against Kent college. This was a tough first match and although the team lost 5-0 there was some super defending which prevented Kent college scoring many more. The girls worked really hard and kept their heads up during this match. It was a very fast game and the U11 A’s progressed throughout the match.

Brighton college: won 3-2
This was a very close match and there was some super marking from Charlotte and Katie. Laura scored some incredible goals from the edge of the D in a very exciting game.

Brighton and Hove prep: won 2-1
This was yet another close match. The girls were passing great during this match especially Jasmine and Lyla. The team began to find more space on the court and were hungry for the ball.

Oakwood school: won 1-0
The U11 A’s has a lot of possession in the game and were unlucky to not have scored more goals in the game. Some strong interceptions from Sienna. Their encouragement and teamwork not only through this match but the whole tournament was fantastic.

St Teresa’s: won 2-1
Great movement in the circle from Charlotte and Lucy, a very exciting match. There was a lot of determinant and the team were snatching the ball, wanting to keep possession.

St Christopher’s school: lost 7-3
The girls were moving the ball up the court very well. The centre court players, especially Alice, showed great agility under pressure to move into space and also mark their players. The score doesn’t reflect how close the game actually was and even though the girls were disappointed with the lost we ended our pool matches having won four and lost two.

Whilst waiting for the rest of the pool matches to be played there was a fantastic team building activity which involved putting up Laura’s tent. They all took part in this and once it was up sat in there to have their lunch and kept warm.

The girls came third overall in their pool which meant they went into the playoffs round. Their match was against the runner up of pool B and this was Hurst.

Hurstpeir point: lost 7-1
There was great commitment and determination in this match. There were moments of attacking play for the U11’s however Hurst took advantage of the interceptions they made and turned them into goals, taking the final score to 7-1.

It was an exciting day, some great netball played and the team spirit was high throughout the day. A big well done to the team for their commitment and energy. Thank you to the parents who were able to come and support and the girls were lucky enough to get back to Amesbury to enjoy period 6!
