Lost: 20 ½ – 8 ½

Batter of the Match: Lily
Fielder of the Match: Isabella

It was a very windy afternoon on Fyfield. The U12s had worked really hard in their lesson on Tuesday, their team work and communication was great and they were ready for the tough match which they knew lay ahead. Isabella captained the U12 team and won the toss at the start of the match, choosing to field first so they would have a rounders target to beat. The start of their fielding in the first innings was good, they stopped many half rounders being scored by throwing the ball accurately to 2nd post. Cranleigh had some big hitters which made it challenging for the U12 team. When it came to the U12 team to bat, Cranleigh got the team out in 20 balls. The scorers were Isabella, Lily and Emily in this innings, although there were other good hits, Cranleigh were quick to stop anything being scored. The second innings was closer, Cranleigh scored 11 and the U12 team scored 6 ½. There were slight changes in the fielding innings and accurate passing from Lottie and Anabelle. Immy read the game well and moved into 4th post for the ball to be thrown to. There were super rounders from Lily, Betty, Emily and Dora and the team played the whole innings to 30 balls. Although the girls lost, it was a lovely match, the U12 team showed fantastic determination throughout and a wonderful and encouraging team spirit.
