U8A Cricket v Aldro: 11 May

The U8As game was delayed by a Surrey storm leaving the boys perplexed by the rain falling and 20*C heat. The first few overs were a little cagey as the boys tried to work out what the bowlers were doing. Off the tee the boys struggled to find the gaps due to some great fielding from Aldro. Some beautiful straight shots and the odd effective pull shot gave Amesbury a score of 233.

In the field the bowling has clearly improved significantly as they forced Aldro to run some risky singles and if it wasn’t for some unfortunate misses, Amesbury may well have restricted them. A few fine bits of fielding and two standout catches from Alfie brought the home spectators to their feet. Aldro finished on 267.
