 U8A Cricket v Edgeborough: 27 April

Won by 2 runs

Amesbury were put in to bat on the first fixture of the season and started brightly.  Good partnerships between William and George, as well as John and James led to early runs being scored and Amesbury having 26 after 4 overs.  Thomas made some impressive shots hitting the boundary on a couple of occasions and was well supported by Samuel.  Alfie also batted well and helped Amesbury to 74 by the end of their innings.  William almost started with a maiden to start the Amesbury bowling attack, whilst Angus and Toby did well to keep the opposition to just 8 runs from their combined 24 balls.  Thomas claimed a good stumping to get the first wicket for Amesbury, whilst Ben took a vital wicket when he bowled out an opposition batsmen in the last over.  Amesbury won by 2 runs.
