U8B Cricket v Edgeborough: 27 April
Won 78-72
It was a chilly day for the first game of the season but the U8B were in high spirits and eager to take on Edgeborough. Amesbury went into the field first and immediately applied the pressure with some good bowling and some excellent fielding. Edgeborough were keen to test out the mid wicket boundary but some excellent work from the Amesbury fielders prevent too many 4’s being scored. Edgeborough ran up a total of 72.
Amesbury then went into bat and faced some pretty tight bowling from Edgeborough. Things were getting tense with the Amesbury batsman unable to keep top with the required run rate. A wicket then fell adding some extra pressure however the Amesbury batsman held their nerve and managed to score at an ever increasing rate. With two balls to go Amesbury lost another wicket but managed to hold on to a final score of 78.
A fantastic and well fought victory.
