U8B Rounders v Ripley Court: 4 May

It was the U8B team’s 1st ever Rounders Match on Thursday 4th May. The sun was trying to come out of the clouds and the girls were excited to play their match against Ripley Court. In the changing rooms before going to Fyfield there was a final pep talk discussing match scenarios and then we were all ready to go. The team was captained by Millie, Ripley Court won the toss and chose to field first. This meant the U8B team was batting first and setting the score for them to beat. The first innings was 27 good balls and the team went for it, there were full rounders from Millie, Maisy, Meredith and Francesca. There were also some wonderful half rounders to second post from Victoria and Lily. At the end of the innings the U8B team total was 10 ½ rounders.
When Ripley Court batted, the fielding was good, and they scored the majority of their rounders at 2nd post to score half a rounder.
In the second innings, both teams only batted 12 good balls as time was running out, this was a lower scoring innings and brought the total to 11 ½ each.
A great first performance by all.
