U9A Rounders v Ripley Court: 4 May

Drew: 12-12

Lady of the match: Maia

A lovely game of rounders played by the U9A team over at Ripley Court.  They started the match by batting first and were faced with 20 good balls.  Sophie, Isabelle, Jazzy and Isobel all watched the ball well scoring a number of half rounders between them.  Some of the girls soon realised that were going to have to sprint to 1st post to ensure they did not get out.  Ripley Court had a backstop with a brilliant over arm throw to 2nd post to a player who always caught the ball, therefore the girls could no longer risk trying to score on a backwards hit.  Sophie did well at scoring a rounder from a super hit.

When fielding Iona and Isabelle worked well together as bowler and backstop.  Isabelle also did a great job of backing up 4th post when the ball was fielded back into the diamond.  Isabelle played brilliantly a2 2nd deep, fielding the ball well and throwing it back into bowler.  Maia had a super a game at 2nd post stumping players out and always watching the ball well.  Hattie enjoyed playing on 1st post and was able to quickly pass the ball back to bowler.  Millie did brilliantly as 1st deep, working well with both Hattie and Maia on the posts.

In the second innings Iona, Isabelle, Maia and Isobel all scored a full rounder each with Sophie and Mille scoring half each.  The final score was a 12-12 draw.

A great game girls, well done.
