The forecast was for hot sunny weather however in true British style the Amesbury U9Bs arrived at Aldro, were put into field and as the first ball was bowled, the rain began! Despite the deluge making the outfield slippy and the ball even more so, the quality and intensity of the fielding was superb. Aldro had some talented batsmen capable of picking the gaps however the Amesbury bowling attack did well to make them work for their runs. Aldro finished their innings on 334-5.
The sun appeared and Amesbury went into bat. A few early wickets tumbled however this did not shake the team spirit and every pair who came to the crease were looking to dispatch the bad balls and pinch quick singles. Unfortunately a few more wickets were lost and Amesbury ended their innings on 227-10.
Some super bowling and fielding from all the team and some areas to work on, on the batting front. A performance to be proud of.
