School News

In Year 1 we have been avidly reading Cinderella. The children were learning how to write a newspaper article and have been busy thinking of headlines for their articles. In order to get all the information they needed, the children became reporters!

Armed with their trusty microphones and questions galore, they interviewed the different characters from the story. The ugly sisters were just plain rude…the prince a little aloof (we think he had something else on his mind)…the Fairy Godmother was slightly crazy!

The children thought of some brilliant questions and really enjoyed their experience of being journalists.

Some of the questions, and I quote

“How did you carry the pumpkin in from the garden?”

“Why were the slippers made from glass?”

“How did you find Cinderella in the end?”

“Why do you want to marry the prince?”

“Did the rats bite you?”

Endless entertainment, especially for the teachers!
